In fact, the game will actually display a message of "At Gold Limit" if you attempt to go any further.

Obviously, 214,748 gold and change is enough for anyone to conduct all of their virtual business currently, but with the upcoming expansion (and future presumed expansions) the cost of doing business -- not to mention those highly prized epic items -- is going to continue to increase exponentially.
